Do 24-Inch Wheels Rub on a Cybertruck?
Owners report that 24-inch wheels can rub on a Cybertruck, mostly at full steering lock and, where they name a spot, on the front wheel-well liner. Some say it changes with suspension height or happens in reverse. Whether a setup rubs is driven by tire diameter, tire width and wheel offset, plus ride height and any widebody kit.
Where do owners report 24-inch wheels rubbing on a Cybertruck?
In the cybertruckownersclub.com threads we reviewed, every owner report of rubbing on 24-inch or 22-inch wheels came at full steering lock, and some owners said it changed with suspension height or happened in reverse. The only spot an owner named was the front wheel-well liner. Owners who confirmed rubbing called it slight, and results varied between similar setups.
- 24-inch wheels at about +25 offset (the owner was not certain) with 35x12.5R24 tires: a very slight touch of the front inner fender liner at full steering lock. The owner estimated about 1/4 inch of trimming would clear it and left it as is. Owner thread, December 2024
- 24 x 12 wheels at -44 offset with 33x12.5R24 tires: slight rubbing at full steering lock, less of it in the Low suspension setting. The spot was not stated. Owner thread, June 2026
- 24-inch wheels at offset 25 with 295/45R24 tires: a squeak with the steering turned fully. Another member suggested checking whether the tire was touching the plastic fender liner; the cause was not confirmed in the thread. Owner thread, December 2024
- 22 x 10 wheels at +10 offset with 35x12.50R22 tires: slight rubbing in reverse with the steering at full lock, worse in the High suspension setting. Owner thread, October 2024

Why does tire diameter matter for rubbing?
A taller tire reaches further from the hub, so it closes the gap to the fender liner at the top and front of the wheel arch. Calculated from nominal dimensions, a 315/45R24 is 1.6% taller than the factory 285/65R20, so its tread sits about 7.3 mm closer to the liner at the same ride height.
By the same calculation, a 35x12.50R24 reaches about 5.3 mm further from the hub than stock, while a 295/45R24 is 34.5 inches tall, 0.4% shorter than stock, and sits about 1.7 mm further from the liner. The change is half the diameter difference, because the tire grows on every side of the hub.

Why does tire width matter for rubbing?
A wider tire adds width on both sides of the wheel, toward the suspension on the inside and toward the fender liner on the outside. Calculated from nominal section widths, a 315/45R24 is 30 mm wider than the factory 285 mm tire, about 15.0 mm more on each side of the rim.
A 295/45R24 adds about 5.0 mm per side and a 35x12.50R24 about 16.3 mm per side. A tire's real section width also changes with the rim width it is mounted on and varies by brand and model, so treat these as nominal differences.
Why does wheel offset matter for rubbing?
Offset decides where the wheel, and the tire on it, sits between the suspension and the fender. A lower offset moves everything outward, toward the fender; a higher offset moves it inward, toward the suspension. Calculated against the factory wheel, a 24 x 9.5 ET37 sits 27.9 mm further out.
The same calculation puts a 24 x 10 ET30 41.2 mm further out and a 24 x 10 ET15 56.2 mm further out than stock. Moving the wheel out frees room on the inboard side (+30.8 mm for the 24 x 10 ET15) but uses room at the fender liner, which the front tire sweeps toward as it steers to full lock. Offset and tire width add together: each side of a 315 mm tire sits 15.0 mm further out from the rim centerline than a 285 mm tire does.

How do ride height and a widebody kit change rubbing?
The air suspension changes where the tire sits in the wheel arch, so a setup can clear at one height and touch at another: owners report contact at the lowest setting, Entry, at the highest, Extract, and worse rubbing in High. A widebody kit moves the fender line outward, so the offset has to match its added width.
Owners on other wheel sizes describe the same pattern:
- Factory 20-inch wheels with 295/65R20 tires: at full lock, the front tires touch the forward inside of the front fender in Entry and the rear inside of the front fender in Extract. Owner thread, June 2025
- 18 x 9 wheels at +20 offset with 35x12 tires: a tiny amount of rubbing at full lock in Entry. Owner thread, January 2026
Neither ride height nor a widebody can be calculated from wheel and tire sizes alone, so the calculator compares setups at the same ride height. For a widebody, it estimates the flare left outboard of the wheel: the kit maker's added width per side minus the wheel's poke against stock, an approximate figure only.
How do you choose a lower-risk 24-inch setup?
Start with a tire at or below the factory diameter, such as 295/45R24, which is 0.4% shorter than stock by calculation. Then match the offset to that tire and to how you use the air suspension: if you use Entry, Extract or High, or often reverse at full lock, leave more room at the fender rather than less.
- Diameter: every millimetre of extra radius is a millimetre closer to the liner. Compare sizes in the calculator.
- Width: a wider tire uses room on both sides at once; half the width difference lands on each side.
- Offset: choose it for the tire and the body, not the other way round. Xolaris machines the offset per build and confirms it before machining.
- Ride height and widebody: tell us how you use the air suspension and, with a widebody, the kit maker's added width per side.
